– Synopsis / Sinopsis:
Carmen and Jose meet up again after a long time. As the reunion takes place José is letting us glimpse traits of his personality that thin the environment.
Carmen y José se vuelven a ver después de mucho tiempo, a medida que transcurre el reencuentro José va dejando entrever rasgos de su personalidad que enturbian el ambiente.

Director and Actress born in Colombia. After finishing the one-year program at The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute at New York she moved to Buenos Aires to Study Filmmaking at Universidad del Cine where she directed two short films: The first one PUNCTUM was part of the Chelsea Film Festival at New York and was screened in Buenos Aires in several events, the second one Mangos was part of the Short Film Corner at Cannes and the INCAA’s catalogue at the Marche du Film. Lía has worked as art director in several short films, video clips, web series and a movie produced by the Film Institute of Argentina (INCAA). The integrity and versatility in her career has expanded her ability to create with a 360-degree view of filmmaking.
Directora y actriz nacida en Colombia. Después de terminar sus estudios en el Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute en Nueva York se mudó a Buenos Aires a estudiar Dirección cinematográfica en la Universidad del Cine donde dirigió dos cortos: El primero PUNCTUM fue parte del Chelsea Film Festival en Nueva York y se proyectó en diferentes eventos en Buenos Aires, el segundo Mangos hizo parte del Short Film Corner en Cannes y fue parte del catálogo del INCAA en el Marche du Film. Ha trabajado como directora de arte en varios proyectos incluidos cortometrajes, video clips, series web y una película producida por el Instituto de cine argentino (INCAA). La integridad y versatilidad de su carrera han expandido su habilidad de crear adquiriendo una visión del cine de 360 grados.
– Director Statement / Declaraciones del Director:
Mangos comes from an image, the urge to develop characters with high psychological depth, the wish to narrate from an instant, a relationship. The past is told in the present while there is a longing for the future. This short film helped me discover suspense and thriller as genres I wanted to develop in an esthetic that is looking to film the ellipsis through sequence shots. Mangos is my second short film, I decided to embrace this narrative search without losing any glipse of an style I started building and is still developing through every exercise as a director, writer and creator.
Mangos surge a partir de una imagen, la afición por desarrollar personajes con niveles psicológicos de alta profundidad, el deseo de narrar a partir de un suceso una relación. Que en el presente esté contado el pasado y haya ansias del futuro. Este cortometraje me ayudó a descubrir el suspenso y el thriller y a desarrollar una estética que busca filmar las elipsis a partir del plano secuencia. Mangos es mi segundo cortometraje, decidí embarcarme en una búsqueda narrativa sin perder rastros de un estilo que está en construcción pero que se consolida cada vez más mediante el ejercicio de la dirección, escritura y creación.
