- Storyline:
Avel unhooks his bird’s cage and begins a journey to the memory of his freedom.
Avel descuelga la jaula de su ave y comienza un viaje rumbo al recuerdo de su libertad.
- Short Synopsis / Sinopsis Corta:
Avel takes down his bird’s cage and sets off on his motorcycle towards the hill; the wind sings through the bars, and a deep blue appears. A journey through time begins that returns us to the purest notion of freedom.
Avel descuelga la jaula de su pájaro y parte en moto rumbo al cerro, la música del viento atraviesa los barrotes, un azul profundo asoma. Comienza un viaje en el tiempo que nos devuelve la más pura noción de libertad.
- Synopsis / Sinopsis:
Avel takes care of his bird, feeds it, watches it, unhangs the cage, and leaves for the hill mounted on his motorcycle. Contemplating from above, the landscape seems the same as always; the silence and the wind remain motionless in immensity. The music of the wind passes through the bars of the birdcage until the cloth that covers the cage blows up through the air revealing a deep blue thing. The bird spreads its wings and feathers puff up, feeling that freedom invades its body. At that moment, a trip through time that brings us back to the purest notion of deliverance begins.
Avel atiende a su ave, la alimenta, la observa, descuelga la jaula y parte rumbo al cerro montado en su moto. Contemplando desde lo alto, el paisaje parece el mismo de siempre, solo el silencio y el viento permanecen inmóviles en la inmensidad. La música del viento atraviesa los barrotes de la jaula, vuela por el aire el paño que la cubre y un azul profundo se asoma, el ave despliega sus alas, sus ojos cerrados le permiten ver la libertad que lo inunda, sus plumas se inflan, sus alas se abren, comienza un viaje en el tiempo que nos devuelve la más pura noción de libertad.
- Director´s Biography / Biografía del Director:
DANIEL MARÍN
Visual and concept artist. Set designer. Art director and animator. Since 2007, he is part of Cienvolando, a handcrafted visual company. He has just released Avel, his first short film as director.
Artista Plástico, Escenografo, Concept artist, Director de Arte y Animador. Desde el año 2007 integra la productora audiovisual Cienvolando, con la que acaba de estrenar su primer cortometraje «Avel».
- Director’s Statement:
The most important reason for making this short film is that it is the first work written and directed by me. The approach of my own aesthetics, which has its origin in my plastic work, was structuring and determining the dramatic timing of the short film. So the visual identity was built progressively together with the realization technique. Another structural concept for the short film is the music and the sound universe, where the relationship between the characters is embodied. Music is what connects Avel with his freedom, symbolized in the bird that flies through time to reach that connection.
La razón más importante para realizar este cortometraje es que se trata del primer trabajo escrito y dirigido por mí. El planteo de una estética propia, que tiene origen en mi trabajo plástico, fue estructurando y determinando los tiempos dramáticos del corto. Entonces la identidad visual se construyó progresivamente junto con la técnica de realización. Otro concepto estructural para el cortometraje es la música y el universo sonoro, donde se encarna la relación entre los personajes. La música es lo que conecta a Avel con su libertad, simbolizada en el ave que vuela a través del tiempo para alcanzar esa conexión.
