- Short Synopsis / Sinopsis Corta:
A group of teenagers signs up in a ghost contest to become ball girls in a Grand Slam tournament. In a town where people come and go, time thickens while they await the results.
Un grupo de adolescentes se inscribe en una convocatoria para ser alcanza-pelotas en un torneo de Grand Slam. Al tiempo que esperan, se revela información sobre la misteriosa desaparición de la influencer más popular del pueblo.
- Synopsis / Sinopsis:
Bariloche, Argentina. A group of teenagers signs up for a call to be ball boys in a Grand Slam tournament that will take place in Buenos Aires. While the girls wait for results, information about the presumed disappearance of the most popular influencer in the city is revealed. Apparently, he also signed up for the call. The wait becomes eternal in a tourist town where people come and go.
Bariloche, Argentina. Un grupo de adolescentes se inscribe en una convocatoria para ser alcanza-pelotas en un torneo de Grand Slam que tendrá lugar en Buenos Aires. Mientras las chicas aguardan por resultados, se revela información sobre la presunta desaparición de la influencer más popular de la ciudad. Aparentemente, también se inscribió en la convocatoria. En un pueblo turístico donde la gente viene y se va, la espera se vuelve eterna.

MARCOS MONTES DE OCA
Bachelor of Audiovisual Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UNLP. He participated in training competitions such as the Buenos Aires Youth Art Biennial and the Berlinale Talents. His works have been screened at festivals worldwide, obtaining awards and mentions. He is currently developing his first feature film awarded by ABC Bafici.
Licenciado en Artes Audiovisuales de la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la UNLP. Participó de certámenes de formación como La Bienal de Arte Joven de Buenos Aires y el Berlinale Talents. Sus trabajos se proyectaron en festivales alrededor del mundo, obteniendo premios y menciones. Actualmente se encuentra desarrollando su opera prima de largometraje premiada por ABC Bafici.
- Director’s Statement / Declaraciones del Director:
As a resident of the interior, some of the topics that are put into tension in the short film are directly related to experiences that I experienced in the past. Feeling outside, far away, imagining the capital as an obligatory, infallible exit. Like the protagonists, I also went through the end of high school in a more or less traumatic way. The question about what to do and where to go occupied a large part of the last months of the school year. Many years later, working as a teacher for secondary schools in Bariloche, I discovered that the same dilemmas I faced are still valid today. Being able to explore these interests and build a work that from the audiovisual language can propose new searches were the main axes that vernacularized this work.
Como residente del interior, algunos de los tópicos que se ponen en tensión en el cortometraje están directamente relacionados con vivencias que experimenté en el pasado. Sentirse fuera, lejos, imaginar la capital como una salida obligatoria, infalible. Como las protagonistas, también atravesé el final de la secundaria de manera, más o menos, traumática. La pregunta sobre el que hacer y a donde ir ocupó gran parte de mis últimos meses del ciclo escolar. Muchos años después, trabajando como docente para escuelas secundarias de Bariloche, me entero que las mismas disyuntivas que enfrenté se mantienen vigentes al día de hoy. Poder explorar estos intereses y construir una obra que desde el lenguaje audiovisual pueda proponer nuevas búsquedas fueron los ejes principales que vehicularizaron este trabajo.
