The same day a teenager discovers he has superpowers, his sister is kidnapped. Together with his best friend, they travel to the rescue and he learns to use his powers.

El mismo día que un joven descubre que tiene superpoderes, secuestran a su hermana. Acompañado por su mejor amiga, viajan al rescate y aprende a usar sus poderes.

Short Synopsis / Sinopsis Corta:

The day Tobias discovers he has superpowers, his sister is mistakenly kidnapped by a group of villains who believe she’s the one with a special gift. Tobias, along with his best friend Gala, comes to her rescue. Along the way, he learns to master his powers, thus managing to save his sister.

El día que Tobías descubre que tiene superpoderes, su hermana es secuestrada erróneamente por un grupo de maleantes que creen que es ella quien tiene un don especial. Tobías, junto a su mejor amiga, acude a su rescate. En el camino aprende a dominar sus poderes, logrando así salvar a su hermana.

Synopsis / Sinopsis:

While solving a math exercise with extraordinary speed, Tobias discovers that he has superpowers. That same day his older sister is mistakenly kidnapped by a group of bad guys who believe she’s the one with a special gift. Tobias goes to her rescue, accompanied by his best friend Gala. Along the way he learns to use his powers, including super-vision and super-speed, which will help him save his sister, defeating the villains who are trying to experiment with his abilities.

Al resolver con una velocidad extraordinaria un ejercicio de matemáticas, Tobías descubre que tiene superpoderes. Ese mismo día su hermana mayor es secuestrada por un grupo de malos que creen que es ella quien posee un don especial. Tobías sale a su rescate, acompañado por su mejor amiga Gala. En el camino aprende a usar sus poderes, entre ellos la super-visión y la super-velocidad, que le servirán para salvar a su hermana, venciendo a los maleantes que buscan experimentar con sus habilidades.

NERINA DE LEÓN TONNO

Nerina de León Tonno was born in 1999 in Argentina. She is a Film Director, who graduated from the Universidad del Cine, where since 2022 she has taught screenwriting. In 2020 she co-founded the production company Garúa Cine, shooting 25 short films.

Nerina de León Tonno nació en 1999 en Ituzaingó, Buenos Aires. Es Directora Cinematográfica, egresada en la Universidad del Cine, donde desde 2022 es docente de Guion II. En 2020 co-fundó la productora Garúa Cine, filmando 25 cortometrajes.

Director’s Statement / Declaraciones del Director:

This story is told from a very personal place because it is partly based on some memories of my childhood and it was shot around the neighborhood I grew up in, and the street art is an important part of its landscape. Blas, the main actor, is my first cousin and he was actually nine years old at the time. We went through plenty of rehearsals, searching playfully for possible locations and situations which later became the screenplay of the short. The process was very wholesome and done with a lot of care, and I hope this can be perceived by the audience.

Esta historia está narrada desde un lugar muy personal porque está en parte basada en recuerdos de mi infancia y fue filmada en el barrio en el que crecí, en el que los graffittis son una parte importante de su paisaje. Blas, el actor principal, es mi primo y realmente tenía nueve años en ese momento. Trabajamos mucho ensayando, probando posibles situaciones y lugares que luego se convirtieron en el guión del corto. El proceso fue bastante lúdico y a la vez hecho con mucho cariño, y espero que el espectador pueda percibir eso en el corto.
