– Short Synopsis / Sinopsis Corta:
Damián suffers bullying in silence. In order to survive, he hides his feelings and sexual desire. Trapped by awful circumstances as bullying continues, Damián will have to be brave enough, in order to break free.
Unos padres exigentes. Una escuela exigente. Una educación pensada para ganadores. Y Damián, sumergido en un mundo que parece cerrarse sobre él. ¿Cómo abrirlo? ¿Cómo encontrar el modo en que se cuele el deseo?
– Synopsis / Sinopsis:
Damián suffers bullying from his classmates because of their suspicion about his sexual orientation. Unable to defend himself, he tries to overcome this situation alone, as Agustín and his band increase their hostility. Bullying scales and continues through a social network, when bullies post a video of Damián and Sebastián –who has a crush on Damián-, after forcing them to kiss each other. While watching the video, Damián suddenly recognizes himself through other eyes, as he stares Sebastian ´s picture of him. Damián regrets having rejected Sebastián, and finally realizes that the only way out, is through. After suffering a new and more humiliating attack, Damián decides to face his fears and let his feelings flow.

Y Damián, sumergido en un mundo que parece cerrarse sobre él. ¿Cómo abrirlo? ¿Cómo encontrar el modo en que se cuele el deseo? Damián soporta el acoso escolar como la mayoría, en silencio. Su instinto de supervivencia lo conduce a esconderse y disimular su orientación sexual. Pero las hostilidades no acaban, insisten. Acorralado por las circunstancias, Damián deberá arrojarse, para aprender a vivir.
– Long Synopsis / Sinopsis Larga:
Damián is the victim of bullying from his classmates due to his sexual orientation. Unable to defend himself, he tries to overcome this situation on his own, as Agustín and his gang increase their hostility. Bullying scales and continues through social media, when bullies post a video of Damián and Sebastián –who has a crush on Damián-, after forcing them to kiss each other. While watching the video, Damián suddenly recognizes himself through other eyes, as he stares at Sebastian ´s picture of him. Damián regrets having turned down Sebastián and finally realizes that the only way out, is through.
After suffering a new and more humiliating attack, Damián decides to face his own fears and let his feelings flow.
Damián es un adolescente víctima de bullying, que debido a su orientación sexual es tomado como blanco de burlas por Agustín y su banda. Incapaz de defenderse y padeciendo esta situación en silencio, las humillaciones a las que es sometido se agravan. Escalan al punto de trasladarse a las redes sociales, cuando Agustín y sus amigos suben un video en el que fuerzan a Damián y a Sebastián –un compañero que se siente atraído por Damián- a besarse. Al mirar el video, Damián repentinamente logra reconocerse a través de otra mirada, cuando observa el retrato que Sebastián ha hecho de él. Damián se arrepiente de su reacción de rechazo hacia Sebastián, y finalmente advierte que la única manera de salir adelante, es atravesando la situación. Luego de sufrir un nuevo y más inquietante ataque, Damián decide enfrentar sus propios temores, y dar curso a sus sentimientos.
– Director´s Biography / Biografía del Director:
TERESA MARTINO
She graduated in 2015 at the Cinematographic Research Center (CIC) of the career of «Film and TV Director». She’s currently working on a thesis for a degree in Social Communication at the National University of La Plata (UNLP). She directs the audiovisual production company Debordé, from which she has made several audiovisual productions with a gender perspective and the fight against homophobia.
Se recibe en el año 2005 en el Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica (CIC) de la carrera de “Realizador integral de Cine y TV”. Actualmente realiza la tesis para la Licenciatura en Comunicación Social en la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP). Dirige la Productora Audiovisual Debordé desde la cual ha realizado varias producciones audiovisuales con perspectiva de género y de lucha contra la homofobia.

– Director’s Statement / Declaraciones del Director:
The bullying associated with homophobia is a very complex issue since GLTB adolescents are in full discovery of their identity and often have to deal with school mockery, silence in their homes and internal homophobia that does not allow them to know who they truly are. Through the chosen point of view, I tell the story through the memories and the viewer can identify with Damián and enter that small world where love cannot be realized without being the victim of hatred. Revés tells a story of survival, of decisions that bet on love, self-recognition, and empowerment. The image of a kiss that becomes epic, because it recognizes in that scene those teenagers who have everything against them found the power to be themselves.
El bullyng asociado a la homofobia es un tema muy complejo ya que los adolescentes GLTB están en pleno descubrimiento de su identidad y muchas veces tienen que lidiar con las burlas de la escuela, el silencio en sus hogares y la homofobia interna que no les permite conocerse a sí mismos. A través del montaje que elegí, contando la historia a través de los recuerdos, el espectador puede identificarse con Damián y entrar en ese pequeño mundo donde el amor no puede realizarse sin ser víctima del odio. Revés cuenta una historia de supervivencia, de decisiones que apuestan al amor, al reconocimiento de sí mismo y al empoderamiento. La imagen final del beso se transforma en una escena épica porque en ella se reconoce a los adolescentes que teniendo todo en contra han encontrado la fuerza para salir adelante y ser ellos mismos.
