– Short Synopsis / Sinopsis Corta:
Nicole is 15 years old, it’s been awhile since she’s managed to maintain a good relationship with her family. She feels alone and misunderstood. She tends to spend long hours writing and drawing in her bedroom. Her family doesn’t really know how to restore the bond. Nicole has a secret. She scolds herself by making little cuts on her wrist. On Christmas’ Eve she cuts too deeply. Her family tries to spend Christmas’ Day, a really distressing one, the best they can. Nobody knows what to say or how to take the first step to face the situation. In the end, it’s her brother Manuel who, in his own way, approaches her; letting her know that he, as well, feels lonely.
Nicole tiene 15 años, hace tiempo que no logra tener una buena relación con su familia. Se siente sola e incomprendida. Suele pasar largas horas escribiendo y dibujando. Su familia no sabe cómo restablecer el vínculo. Nicole tiene un secreto, se auto flagela haciéndose pequeños cortes en la muñeca. El día de noche buena se corta demasiado. La familia intenta pasar como puede, el día de navidad. Nadie sabe que decir ni como dar el primer paso para enfrentar la situación. Finalmente es su hermano Manuel quién, a su manera, logra acercarse, dejándole ver que él también se siente solo.

Born in 1989 in Buenos Aires, Ivan Tobias Epstein studies Audiovisual Design at University of Buenos Aires. He directed filmschool shorts such as “The Gap”, “Red Dot”, “Teo & Lila”. His first profesional work was the trailer of the Chinese film “Enigma Tango”. The short film “No Snow for Christmas” is his directorial debut. He is currently writing his first featured film named “BarrioBajo”. Working on the pre-production of “Lucas”, a short film to be shot this year, editing his experimental documentary “A lot of Land” and developing the script of his second featured film titled “His last film”.
Iván Tobías Epstein nació en 1989 en Buenos Aires y estudia la carrera de Diseño, Imagen y Sonido en la UBA. Dirigió algunos cortos universitarios como «La Brecha», “Punto Rojo”, “Teo y Lila”; y un Trailer de promoción para China titulado “Enigma Tango”. “No hay nieve en Navidad” es su primer cortometraje con estructura cinematográfica profesional. En la actualidad está escribiendo su primera película llamada “BarrioBajo”. Además se encuentra desarrollando “Lucas”, su segundo cortometraje, está editando su documental experimental “Tanta Tierra” y está escribiendo su segunda película titulada “La última película de Norman”.
