A situation that is left offscreen has many interpretation. As much as the amount of Manuel’s friends. Meanwhile, time goes by and the girl in question doesn’t comunícate. The road from deception to overcoming.
Un hecho que queda en fuera de campo tiene muchas interpretaciones. Tantas como amigos tiene Manuel. Mientras, el tiempo pasa y la chica en cuestión no se comunica. El paso de la decepción a la superación.
– Long Synopsis / Sinopsis Larga:
Manuel goes on a firts date with a girl. According to him, everything seems to have gone very good. At the begginig, the emotion is very high, but as time passes and the girls doesn’t comunícate, he starts looking for possible mistakes with his friends. He discusses and revisits the conversations he had with her. The road from deception to overcoming.
Manuel sale por primera vez con una chica. Según el, todo parece haber ido bien. Al principio la emoción es muy alta, pero a medida que pasa el tiempo y la chica no se counica, el empieza a buscar los posibles errores junto con sus amigos. Discute y revisita las conversaciones que tuvo. Entre todo esto pasan las clases, los transportes y los bares. El paso de la decepción a la superación.

MANUEL SETTON
He was born in Buenos Aires in 1995. He studies filmmaking at the FUC (Universidad del Cine). This is his first short film.
Nació en Buenos Aires en 1995. Estudia dirección cinematográfica en la Universidad del Cine (FUC). Este es su primer cortometraje con el que en 2016 ganó el tercer puesto al Mejor Cortometraje en el concurso del Fondo Nacional de las Artes.
– Director Statement / Declaraciones del Director:
This short film originated as a Project in the subject direction 3 in the university where I study (Universidad del Cine). At the beginning, I made some tests to see how this form worked. Long conversations in only one shot, playing with the movements of the characters. From there, I started adding some personal stories to the script. The script was always thought as a description of situations, where there was no dialogue written beforehand, it would come alive with the actors. As a consequence of this and many other thigs, I decided that the short film should be interpreted by me and my friends. In it, we can see the everyday life: going to university, going to a bar, visiting a friend while he’s working. The locations of the movie are also really close to me: the bar is the one where I usually go, the street is the Street where I walk by every day and the playstore is the one where my friend works. I think that a big part of the short’s grace comes from that, a naturalness that it’s not only created by the dialogues or the situations, but also by the warmth of the people that worked in it and the places where it was shot.
Este corto surgió como un proyecto en la materia Dirección 3 en la Universidad del Cine. En un principio hice algunas pruebas de cámara, para ver cómo funcionaba esta forma. Conversaciones largas, en un solo plano, jugando con los movimientos de los personajes. A partir de esto es que fui agregando ciertas historias personales dentro del guion. El guion siempre fue pensado como situaciones, donde el dialogo nacía a partir de charlas con los actores. Como consecuencia de esto y de otras cosas, decidí que el corto deberíamos actuarlo yo junto a mis amigos. En él se puede ver partes de la cotidianeidad: clases en la universidad, ir a un bar, visitar a un amigo en su trabajo. También funciona así con respecto a los lugares que fue filmado, son calles que he transitado, bares a los que he ido y tanto la casa como la juguetería son donde viven o trabajan los actores. Creo que la gracia del corto reside en gran parte en eso, en una naturalidad que no solo se da por la forma en la que está estructurada los diálogos o las situaciones, sino por una cercanía o calidez dentro de la gente que trabajo en el corto y en los lugares en donde se filmó.
