First-hand images and notes result from my reaction to the surrounding aspects of a work trip in the south of the USA.
Imágenes y notas en primera persona son el resultado de reaccionar a lo que rodea un viaje laboral por el sur de los Estados Unidos.
- Synopsis / Sinopsis:
A book note and some images; the first-hand record used as an escape attempt. Economic needs, human bonds, and personal circumstances intertwine in a working trip that covers Chihuahua and Texas up to California, perceiving the dehumanizing effect of the system and the precariousness that upholds the dominant ideology.
Un cuaderno de notas e imágenes; el registro en primera persona como un intento de escape. Necesidades económicas, vínculos y circunstancias personales se entrelazan en un recorrido laboral, a través de un paisaje que va desde Chihuahua y Texas hasta California, percibiendo la deshumanización del sistema y la precarización que sostiene la ideología imperante.

MATÍAS BUZZALINO
He studied cinema at the CIEVYC. He made several short films. In 2010 he obtained a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts of Argentina. He currently works in film and TV.
Estudió la carrera de cine en el CIEVYC. Realizó varios. En 2010 obtuvo la beca del Fondo Nacional de las Artes. Actualmente trabaja en Cine y Televisión.
- Director´s Statement / Declaraciones del Director:
These images, as well as these notes, were kept away for some time. They were captured by me during a working trip abroad. I was hired as a cameraman along with some other people to shoot a TV show for an Argentinean production company that generated content for Latam. It was almost two months of working non-stop for more than 12 hours a day and with a high level of demand, which caused excessive stress. I was going through a lot in my personal life during that moment and, along with being an exploited worker, made it even more difficult to endure that journey. That is why, in one moment of the trip, I took the backup camera and started shooting random images for me in the few spare moments I had. I captured them without a criterion, just as an attempt to get away from that reality. Now that I came across them again, I will try to reconstruct that moment/ experience.
Estas imágenes, como así también estas anotaciones permanecieron guardadas algún tiempo. Las mismas fueron tomadas por mí, durante un viaje de trabajo en el extranjero. Había sido enviado como camarógrafo, junto a un grupo de personas, a grabar un programa de televisión para una productora argentina que generaba contenido para Latinoamérica. Fueron casi dos meses de jornadas ininterrumpidas, donde trabajábamos más de doce horas, absolutamente todos los días, con muchísima exigencia lo cual generaba una presión desmedida. En aquel momento mi vida personal venía atravesando una serie de acontecimientos difíciles, lo que hacía más duro aún poder sobrellevar, como trabajador precarizado, esta travesía. Fue por todo eso que, en un momento dado del viaje, tomé la cámara que teníamos de repuesto -por si la del programa fallaba- y en los escasos momentos en que pude comencé a grabar imágenes para mí. Sin seguir ningún criterio concreto, simplemente con el único fin de poder abstraerme por un rato de mi realidad, es que nacieron estos registros.
