In the South America of the 16th century, an Inca shaman gives Alvar Mayor the opportunity of an encounter with the demon Chahuar to ask him to save his daughter. This way, Alvar submerges in a Pre-Columbian legend in which the line between reality and dreams will become blurred.
En Sudamérica del siglo XVI, un chamán inca proporciona a Alvar Mayor la ocasión para un encuentro con el demonio Chahuar con el objetivo de que salve a su hija. Alvar se sumerge así en una leyenda precolombina en la que se desdibujará el límite entre la realidad y el sueño.
– Synopsis / Sinopsis:
Fiction VFX of fantasy genre and adventures in America of the XVI during the Spanish conquest, where pre-Columbian myths and legends are transformed into the collective memory of the «defeated». Alvar Mayor, experienced guide wanders through Andean deserts summoned by a shamanic prayer. The encounter with an old Inca sorcerer, a magic potion, an eclipse, a woman and a dangerous adventure towards the temple of the demon Chahuar. Alvar becomes the key to the adventure of these American lands.
Ficción fantástica y de aventuras c/VFX en América del SXVI durante la conquista española, donde mitos y leyendas precolombinos se transforman en la memoria colectiva de los “vencidos”. Alvar Mayor, guía experimentado deambula por desiertos andinos convocado por un rezo chamánico. El encuentro con un viejo brujo inca, una poción mágica, un eclipse, una mujer y una aventura peligrosa hacia el templo del demonio Chahuar. Alvar se transforma en la llave de la aventura de estas tierras americanas.

Producer and storyteller at LEVEL UP!, transmedia storytelling content and gamification studio: www.leveluptransmedia.com. Co-director and producer of «The Water of Dreams», part of the transmedia project «Alvar, Las Américas» www.alvarlasamericas.com. She was partner and producer at El Icono, a 3D animation studio. She directed and produced the documentary «Los Bravos, Peruvian musicians in Buenos Aires». She gave production services for films, film festivals, and advertising. She completed her degree in film directing and production at the Universidad del Cine.

Founding partner and supervisor of VFX at Malditomaus www.malditomaus.com. He completed his degree in Audiovisual and Technique in Image Postproduction at the National University of Lanús, specializing in audiovisual supervision for projects of cinema, tv, and advertising (tasks of script in Postproduction, Animation, Composition, Chromakeying, Tracking, Matchmove, VFX, 3D Stereo VFX & 2D to 3D). The short film «The Water of Dreams» is his first feature as a director also with the teaser of the fiction series of the transmedia project «Alvar Las Américas» www.alvarlasamericas.com.
Socio fundador y supervisor de VFX en Malditomaus www.malditomaus.com. Realizó su licenciatura en Audiovisión y Tecnicatura en Postproducción de Imagen en la Universidad de Lanús., especializándose en la supervisión audiovisual para proyectos de cine, tv y publicidad (tareas de Guión en Postproducción, Animación, Composición, Chromakeying, Tracking, Matchmove, VFX, 3D Stereo VFX & 2D to 3D). El cortometraje “El Agua de los Sueños” es su ópera prima como director junto con el teaser de la serie de ficción del proyecto transmedia “Alvar Las Américas” www.alvarlasamericas.com.
– Director’s Statement / Declaraciones del Director:
The reasons that have led us to choose a masterpiece of the Argentine comic book as «Alvar Mayor”, must be explained by two passions: comics and love for popular culture and the mysterious culture of our pre-Columbian America, especially the Peruvian. Beneath the appearance of simple stories of adventure and entertainment, there is a deep message, of visions different from those of the «civilized» western eye, of wealth and dimensions still unexplored and often underestimated. We firmly believe that education does not have to be boring or heavy, and its counterpart, that good entertainment does not have to be silly or empty. That is why our content contains a story respectful of historical fiction, with details supported by works of chroniclers, historians and archaeologists of ancient Peru but at the same time taken to the plane of the fantasy genre and adventures with flashes of magical realism. It sounds amazing that such colorful and fantastic elements are historical and mythological. At the professional level, we believe it is an opportunity to design a transmedia storytelling with different techniques at the service of the content, focusing on the experience of the reader-viewer-user, and recovering it for new generations as well as for the original fandom.
Los motivos que nos han llevado a elegir una obra maestra de la historieta argentina como “Alvar Mayor”, hay que buscarlos en dos pasiones: los cómics y el amor por la cultura popular y la misteriosa cultura de nuestra América precolombina, especialmente la peruana. Por debajo de la apariencia de simples historias de aventuras y entretenimiento, se esconde un mensaje profundo, de visiones diferentes a las del ojo de occidente “civilizado”, de una riqueza y dimensiones aún hoy inexploradas y muchas veces subestimadas. Creemos firmemente que la educación no tiene por qué ser aburrida ni pesada, y su contraparte, que el buen entretenimiento no tiene por qué ser tonto ni vacío. Es por ello que nuestro contenido contiene un relato respetuoso de ficción histórica, con detalles sustentados por obras de cronistas, historiadores y arqueólogos del antiguo Perú pero al mismo tiempo llevado al plano del género fantástico y de aventuras con destellos de realismo mágico. Suena increíble que elementos tan coloridos como fantásticos, sean históricos y mitológicos. En el plano profesional, creemos que es una oportunidad para diseñar un transmedia storytelling con técnicas diversas al servicio del contenido poniendo el foco en la experiencia del lector-espectador-usuario, y recuperándolo para nuevas generaciones además de para el fandom original.
