– Synopsis / Sinopsis:
Santiago joins Paco on a trip to a night club in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. After an argument with some locals, both decide to return to the city. But with no money, phone or help, the trip back will be much more difficult than what they imagined.
Santiago acompaña a Paco a bailar a un boliche del conurbano bonaerense. Luego de una discusión con gente del lugar, deciden regresar a la capital. Pero sin plata, celular o ayuda, la vuelta será más complicada de lo que pensaban.
– Long Synopsis / Sinopsis Larga:
Outside a nightclub, Santiago talks to his girlfriend on the phone. He finds out that she is in some kind of danger. Paco, his drunk friend, comes out of the nightclub and is about to get into a fistfight with Tomy over some girl. A police car prevents the fight from happening and Santiago manages to take Paco away. At a store, Santiago buys pre-paid credit for his mobile, but the battery dies out. Now, with no money and no phone, Santiago decides to take the clerk’s advice and he carries Paco to a nearby bus stop. On their way, Paco faints in the middle of the street. Santiago finds a pay phone but he is not able to get the call through. Meanwhile, a couple of Thieves take Paco’s t-shirt and sneakers, and put a red cap on his head. As Santiago approaches, a neighbor threatens to call the police, and the Thieves ran away. The Neighbor takes Santiago for one of the thieves, so Santiago carries Paco out of there. Shortly after, a Pregnant Lady crashes her car and Santiago is forced to help her. With Paco still out, Santiago drives everybody to the hospital. Once there, Santiago borrows a mobile phone from Doctor Salvatierra. As he finds out that his girlfriend is ok, he is mistaken again for one of the thieves, and taken to jail. He tells the events to an Officer, but then he is released after the Neighbor failed to recognize him as one of the thieves. Santiago arrives at the bus stop as he reaches Doctor Salvatierra on the mobile. But suddenly, Tomy appears, asking about Paco. Santiago tries to get rid of Tomy, but, to their surprise, the Thieves also turn up. Bravely, Santiago comes forward and returns the red cap to the Thieves, who take pity and let him go. Santiago starts hitchhiking. He jumps into a car that pulls up and finds Doctor Salvatierra and Paco in it. The joy fades away when the car fails to start. Fed up, Santiago gets out of the car and decides to walk home.
A la salida de un boliche, Santiago habla con su novia por celular y se entera que está en peligro. Paco, su amigo, sale del boliche y se está a punto de pelear con Tomy por una chica. Un patrullero frena la pelea y Santiago logra llevarse a Paco. Santiago compra una tarjeta de celular, quedándose sin plata, para luego darse cuenta que no tiene más batería en su teléfono. Finalmente, como sugirió el Kiosquero, Santiago decide tomar un colectivo. En el camino, Paco se desmaya en plena calle. Santiago encuentra un teléfono público, pero no logra comunicarse, mientras dos Ladrones le roban a Nazareno la remera y las zapatillas, dejando su gorra caída en el piso. Los gritos de un Vecino y la corrida de Santiago, hacen que los Ladrones huyan. El Vecino confunde a Santiago con un Ladrón, pero Santiago toma a Paco y se va rápido. Cerca, una Mujer Embarazada choca su auto y Santiago se ve obligado a ayudarla. Con Paco a cuestas, Santiago logra llevar a la Mujer Embarazada al hospital. En el hospital, Santiago le pide de usar el celular al Doctor Salvatierra. Luego de enterarse que su novia está fuera de peligro, Santiago es confundido con uno de los Ladrones y detenido por la policía. Luego de dar declaración en la comisaría, Santiago es liberado, ya que el Vecino no lo reconocen como uno de los Ladrones. Santiago llega al puente justo cuando se contacta con el Doctor Salvatierra por celular. Pero de repente aparece Tomy, preguntando por Paco. Santiago trata de echarlo, pero aparecen los Ladrones. Valientemente, Santiago avanza y le devuelve la gorra a uno de los Ladrones, que le devuelve el celular y lo deja ir. Santiago se pone a hacer dedo en la ruta. Se sube a un auto y descubre al Doctor Salvatierra y a Paco, que habían ido al lugar por algo que recordó Paco. El auto de repente no arranca. Harto, Santiago se baja y decide ir caminando a su casa.

GERMÁN SERVIDIO
Germán Servidio was born in Buenos Aires, in 1982. He studied at Universidad del Cine (2000-2004). During the past 15 years he has been working in film, documentaries, videoclips, television and advertising. The fact that he has been involved, in one time or another, in producing, editing, scripting or directing, gives him a wide-angle vision of the audiovisual spectrum. In recent years, he was specialized in the developments of scripts, consulting, script-doctoring and writing. He worked with Damian Szifron, collaborating in many projects in varied genres, which include the recently awarded “Wild Tales”, among several others. These days, after writing the second season of “Mentira La Verdad” tv show, and the teen-oriented series “:Presentes”, he is working on what it will be his first film feature, titled “El Monstruo”.
Germán Servidio nació en Berazategui, provincia de Buenos Aires en 1982 y estudió en la Universidad del Cine (2000-2004). Durante los últimos 15 años ha trabajado en el desarrollo de películas nacionales, documentales, videoclips, televisión y publicidades. El hecho de haber incurrido en distintas áreas como producción, edición, guión y dirección le ha permitido conocer el medio audiovisual desde distintos ángulos. En los últimos años se ha focalizado en el desarrollo de guiones, tanto en la escritura como en consultoría. Trabajó extensamente con Damián Szifrón, colaborando en varios proyectos que incluyen largometrajes: “Relatos Salvajes”, “Little Bee” (western), “La pareja perfecta” (comedia romántica); cortometrajes (una treintena de historias de los más diferentes géneros); y series de televisión (“El extranjero” y “Malcriado”). En la actualidad, y luego de escribir la segunda temporada del programa de televisión “Mentira La Verdad” y la ficción juvenil “:Presentes”, Germán se encuentra trabajando en lo que será su primer largometraje titulado “El Monstruo”.
– Director Statement / Declaraciones del Director:
Our intention was always to tell a good and entertaining story, with a theme behind that leaves the viewer thinking about the characters or their journey. The premise for “One Of Those Nights” is quite simple: two friends must go from point A to point B, but the trip is going to be far from easy. Then we saw several reference movies come in our way, the crew took shape, we found some great locations in Zárate city and the amazing leading men (Julián Doregger y Julián Kartun) were found; all these ingredients came about to become the adventure comedy that we are so proud of. The premise can be very simple, but the scope of the short feature was growing day by day during pre-production, so the budget was exploited to the fullest to achieve the final results, in technical as weel as human resources.
Nuestra intención es la de contar una historia, bien narrada y entretenida, con alguna idea detrás que deje pensando tanto en la historia como en los personajes. La primera idea para “Una De Esas Noches” surge de una premisa simple: dos amigos deben llegar de un punto A a un punto B y el camino será muy difícil. A partir de eso, de las películas de referencia, el equipo que se fue formando, las locaciones encontradas en la ciudad de Zárate y los fabulosos protagonistas (Julián Doregger y Julián Kartun), se fue conformando esta comedia de aventuras de la cual nos sentimos tan orgullosos. Si bien la premisa de la historia es fácilmente resumible, la envergadura del corto se fue tornando mayor con el correr de la preproducción, el presupuesto fue explotado al máximo para obtener los visibles resultados, tanto en recurso técnico como humano.
