Cooperative “AR/TV Trans” is a theater cooperative composed of transvestites and trans people; it was created for the sole purpose of get the girls out of prostitution. They studied theater and produce their shows. The protagonists tell us their dreams, show their daily struggles and share their experiences and realities to be accepted and belong to society as well.
La “Cooperativa Ar/Tv Trans” es una cooperativa de teatro formada por travestis y trans, que nació con el único objetivo de sacar a las chicas de la prostitución. Estudian teatro y producen sus espectáculos. Sus protagonistas nos cuentan sus sueños, muestran su lucha y comparten sus vivencias y realidades para poder ser aceptadas y así pertenecer a la sociedad.
– Synopsis / Sinopsis:
“Cooperative AR/TV Trans” is a theater cooperative composed of transvestites and trans people who seeks to make visible, through art, themes relating to identity, vindicating their gaze, telling and sharing their experiences and realities; by putting the body and voice. The Cooperative began as a workplace to dignify the viewpoint of the transvestites in Argentina. Daniela Ruiz, the cooperative´s founder is the voice that narrates this story that intersect solidarity, willpower and fighting in order not to give to injustice and the obstacles that arise for being part of the transgender world.
La “Cooperativa Ar/Tv Trans” es una cooperativa de teatro integrada por chicas travestis y transexuales que buscan visibilizar, mediante el arte, temáticas referidas a su identidad, reivindicando su mirada, contando y compartiendo sus vivencias y realidades, poniendo el cuerpo y la voz. La Cooperativa nació con el único objetivo de sacar a las chicas de la prostitución creando un espacio laboral que dignifique la mirada travesti en la Argentina. Daniela Ruiz, presidenta fundadora, es la narradora de esta historia que entrecruza solidaridad, fuerza de voluntad, y lucha para no dejarse vencer ante la injusticia, y los obstáculos que se les presenta por pertenecer a un mundo Trans: transgresor, transexual, transgénero.
– Director´s Biography / Biografía del Director:
GUILLERMO BERGANDI
He graduated from the Universidad del Cine as Film Director. With his short film “Carlitos seductor” participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus (Berlin International Film Festival, 2005) to perfect himself as an actor and director. He directed the film “El Marfil» that participated in several festivals and was distributed by Laguna films in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Argentina. He also worked as assistant director on films. He also directed promotions and corporate videos of major companies.
Guillermo Bergandi egresó de la Universidad del cine como director en el 2001. En el 2004 dirigió su ópera prima de ficción EL MARFIL. En el año 2005 con su corto CARLITOS SEDUCTOR participó en «Berlinale Talent Campus». Los siguientes años los dedicó a dirigir institucionales y comerciales hasta el 2015 que realizó su largometraje documental «Reina de Corazones».

– Director’s Statement / Declaraciones del Director:
In March 2014 a friend proposed me to continue with theater classes of the “Cooperativa Ar/Tv Trans”. Once enthusiastically I accept the proposal, beginning to give theater classes 4 hours a week to a group of ten trans girls. Through theater, we begin to know each other, knowing their worlds, their stories and their struggle to belong and be accepted in society. I realized that living on the margins unfairly and felt the urgent need to show, through the tools I know, their lives. A lot of travestities living on prostitution, because they are not included and they are rejected when they deliver a CV, or when going to a job interview. The “Cooperativa Ar/Tv Trans”, the way not only as actresses but also as people. In the group a place of containment. They say that in the cooperative feel without the mask, without makeup. And by my side I want people to know these profiles.
En Marzo del 2014 una amiga me propone continuar con las clases de teatro de la Cooperativa Ar/Tv Trans. Una vez que acepto con entusiasmo la propuesta, comienzo a darles clases de teatro a un grupo de diez chicas trans. Por medio del teatro, comenzamos a conocernos desde un lugar muy personal, conociendo sus mundos, sus historias y su lucha por pertenecer y ser aceptadas en la sociedad. Me di cuenta que injustamente viven en la marginalidad y sentí la necesidad imperiosa de mostrar, a través de las herramientas que conozco, sus vidas. La gran mayoría de las chicas viven de la prostitución, porque no son incluidas, porque son rechazadas cuando entregan un cv, o cuando van a una entrevista de trabajo. La Cooperativa Ar/Tv Trans las forma, no solo como actrices, sino que también como personas. Encuentran en el grupo un lugar de contención. Ellas dicen que en La Cooperativa se sienten sin la máscara, sin el maquillaje. Y por mi lado deseo que la gente conozca esos perfiles.
