Buenos Aires 2001. In a supermarket in the suburbs a chinese family decides to close the market for the fear of the looting being committed throughout the city. The days pass by and the family tries to keep their normal lives but the fear of outside lurking breaks in their family life, over and over.
Buenos Aires, 2001. En un supermercado, una familia china se encierra por miedo a los saqueos. Los días pasan y el miedo al acecho rompe con la cotidianidad. Los ataques aumentan, es inminente. La familia se prepara.
– Synopsis / Sinopsis:
Argentina, Buenos Aires 2001. The country is suffering the worst economic disaster in its history. The Social Conflict grows. In a supermarket in the suburbs a chinese family is watching the news of the looting being committed throughout the city on television. The father of the family decides to close the market. The days pass by and the family tries to keep their normal lives but the fear of outside lurking breaks in their family life, over and over.
The attacks are on the rise, the looting is imminent and the family prepares for the defence.
Argentina, Buenos Aires 2001. El país sufre el peor desastre económico de su historia. El conflicto social crece. En un supermercado de los suburbios una familia china mira por televisión las noticias de los saqueos que se están cometiendo por toda la ciudad. El padre decide cerrar el negocio para proteger a su familia. Los días pasan y todos intentan mantener la cotidianidad de sus vidas pero el miedo al acecho del exterior rompe una y otra vez esa normalidad. Los ataques aumentan, es inminente el saqueo y la familia se prepara.

Born in 1979 in Buenos Aires, he majored in Image and Sound Design at the UBA. His first feature film was “La Salada” (2014) who won the last «San Sebastian Film Festival Cine en Construcción award» and had the international premiere in Toronto International Film Festival. He is currently writing his next film called “The Strangers” and recently he has finished the short film «Mandarin Diamond» (2015) which is part of the film «Historias Breves 10».
Juan Martin Hsu nació en Buenos Aires y estudió la carrera de Diseño, Imagen y Sonido en la UBA. Dirigió el corto «Ropa Sucia», y «La Salada» es su primer largometraje que ganó el premio Cine en Construcción del Festival de San Sebastián y participó en varios festivales como el de Toronto Film Festival, BAFICI y Biarritz. En la actualidad está realizando el cortometraje Diamante Mandarín para Historias breves 10 y escribiendo su segunda película llamada “Los Extraños”.
